Our First Cycling Lesson

We are lucky enough to have our very own bike track and a set of bikes thanks to bikes in schools and on Monday we had our very first lesson.  It was great fun and Sahil even learnt to ride a bike! We can't wait to get back on them.  Here's a link to a news paper article about our new track.

Azure's Current Events

Last week for current events Azure chose an article about chocolate.  Look at his slide show and decide if you agree with Azure - is there nothing negative about this article?  Does everyone think chocolate is delicious? Should we all start eating chocolate everyday?

Viral Videos

On Wednesday Miss Kyla came in and talked to us about Viral Videos.  We learnt that when a video goes viral it can have postitive or negative consequences depending on the content.  It means we always need to think carefully about what we put online.  Here is Kenneth's Venn diagram comparing two different viral videos.

Jim's Letters

Today we read Jim's letters by Glyn Harper.  After reading it we got into groups and completed a say it based on the story.  We had to imagine we were characters from the book and answer questions and we used move note to record ourselves as we did it.  Take a look at this movenote, completed by Azure, Matthew, Diziah and Curtys.

Are you a hero?

This term our inquiry topic is Heroes.  Last week we came up with what we thought were the qualities of a hero and we also wrote a list of criteria to help us decide if someone is a hero or not.  We worked in groups to decide weather some famous people were heroes or not.  Here is the finished slideshow.  We will post our criteria soon so you can decide if you are a hero.
